Job Description SummaryThe Sr. Manager, Business Transformation is a successful dynamic leader who is accountable to drive and deliver strategic process simplification opportunities through best practice project and change management expertise and Lean Six Sigma Operational Excellence methodologies across BD Biosciences globally. The position plays a key role in managing transformative projects/programs, building processes, as well as leading cross-functional teams towards realization of both quantitative and qualitative benefits that are aligned with BD Biosciences’ overall strategy.
The near-term emphasis for this role will be communicating and leading the completion of the design, planning, and implementation phases of a key strategic business initiative aimed at improving customer experience by disrupting the existing supply chain distribution network. On-going, the Sr. Manager, Business Transformation will partner with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs, providing input into key business decisions and resource planning. This is an independent position that drives solutions. The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of working with external parties, being a champion of change, reporting progress to senior business leaders on a regular basis, and managing complex projects on a global scale.
Leads the team to prepare for Phase Gate and other Go/No-Go decisions by executive leadership, ensuring that decisions are informed by a balanced and clearly articulated representation of the relevant data.
Oversee the development and presentation of project business cases and ROI.
Ensures budgets and schedules meet business requirements.
Responsible for all day-to-day operational aspects of projects, applying best practices & standards of project management to deliver on commitments. This includes but is not limited to, project initiation, scoping, activity & resource planning, risk analysis & mitigation, execution, stakeholder management and project documentation.
Leads the RFP process to find, evaluate and decide on implementation partners required to deliver the project.
Work with teams and individuals to mitigate conflicts and resolve issues as needed. Leverage cross-organizational relationships for support, and resolution of issues.
Anticipate, creatively solve and proactively mitigates problems vs. simply reacting.
Sets a vision then creates and manages project tasks/actions as part of an overall integrated project plan to achieve that vision.
Identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, customer service and/or reducing costs and complexity for BD Biosciences’ business operations by leading cross-functional working groups to improve business processes, taking an end-to-end perspective.
Manage large complex programs that will accelerate operational, productivity and customer experience improvements across the organization.
Subject matter expertise in Process and Continuous Improvement. Accountable for identification, shaping, and confirmation of opportunities for business process simplificationwhile also recognizing operational issues/challenges and recommendingpragmatic solutions.
Facilitation and coaching needs such as workshop planning and facilitation, Kaizen events, value mapping, customer inputs, coaching CI projects and initiatives, etc. Mentor others within the team and the broader organization to promote commonality in processes and tools and ensure best practices are shared.
Stays abreast and trains on new technologies and tools that are related to job duties

Education and Experience
Masters or BS/BA inOperations/Supply Chain,Industrial Engineering,BusinessAdministration, project management,or related fieldin a manufacturing/business environment, preferable in a globalcompany
7+ years’ experience leadingbroad, complex, and/or strategiccross-functional global projects. PMP(Project Management Professional) certificationrequired.
10+yearsofexperience in managing process improvement, business integration, business transformationand other related projects required. Experience working inLife Sciences orMedical Device industry highly desired.
Lean Six Sigmagreen/black beltcertification(transactional preferred)from accredited organizationhighly desirableincluding experience with LSS tools and continuous improvement fundamentals: Value Stream mapping, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.
ERP system business acumen (SAP, JDE, etc.): ability to navigate, understand transaction processing and reporting
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner using superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Experience in managing large, multi-year contracts with external contractors.
Demonstrated experience with helping organizations through large-scale changes such as new plant startups, merger/integration activities, organizational alignment or transformation required
Experience and/or advanced functional knowledge of supply chain (logistics, customer service, demand/supply planning) processes
Intrapersonal skills: Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work independently, seeking support as needed. Excellent judgment and decision-making. Strong humility, listening, creativity, and negotiation skills
Must be a well-respected leader who can lead through ambiguity and influence stakeholders in written and oral communications, working successfully with a wide variety of groups at all levels within a matrixed organization
Change management experience in principles and methodologies to generate excitement and engagement through influence and strong relationships
Highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively across all organizational levels and skill groups
Experience developing business case for change, tracking value and driving positive return on investment
