Job Description Summary

The Sr. Performance Consultant is a key contributor to the success of the Readiness and Education team. This position is responsible for building consultative relationships with the business, and is accountable for the development, implementation and evaluation of learning and performance improvement solutions/interventions designed to close performance gaps within MMS and SDS. The Sr. Performance Consultant will analyze current performance levels, identify areas of improvement, develop and implement performance solutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the solution. Additionally, the Sr. Performance Consultant may provide training and coaching to associates and leadership to ensure performance is maximized. The Sr. Performance Consultant collaborates with other Readiness and Education and Business Transformation team members to achieve identified goals. The Sr. Performance Consultant serves as a subject matter expert for the organization on performance improvement, change management and organizational effectiveness strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organizational Success

  • Drive strategies and initiatives benefiting internal and external customers.

  • Collaborate with MMS/SDS leadership to ensure performance improvement initiatives align with business strategy.

  • Set individual priorities in context with team priorities to meet goals in the face of multiple demands.

  • Assist in the design, development and delivery of SDS new hire orientation programs as assigned.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to new-hires and Readiness and Education team.

  • Performance Improvement/Consulting

  • Demonstrate (performance) consulting skills by following an interactive process using probing questions and active discussion to understand the goals of internal stakeholders, guiding them to an optimal solution based on research and expertise

  • In partnership with the Sr Manager and Principal, identify, propose and lead performance improvement initiatives to identify capability gaps, identify ways to fill those gaps, then lead the design of those initiatives

  • Design appropriate assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and performance improvement interventions and solutions

  • Establish and maintain credibility and influence with business partners.

  • Develop collaborative partnerships with the business to proactively identify/understand training needs and drive the design and development of performance improvement solutions that close identified gaps and produce desired productivity outcomes

  • Assist/Facilitate the development of job role competency profiles and skill and career development pathway structures

  • Lead projects to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.

  • Partner with Leaders to define required performance standards if undefined; determine existing performance capability, analyze the cause or contributors that limit performance, and recommend solutions that deliver desired business results

  • Customize performance development programs to meet specific functional or job role needs; maintain programming to ensure timely updates and enhances based on business need

  • Develop and implement measurement standards to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and the transfer of skills to the job.

  • Build relationships with other Readiness & Education, and Business Transformation associates to ensure seamless integration of service delivery

  • Analyze input/requests for future performance improvement opportunities; proposes action as appropriate

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the field of performance improvement and change management, and of the latest tools, techniques, and best practices.

  • Training Delivery & Management

  • Lead/facilitate associate in-person or virtual training sessions as needed.

  • Utilize a variety training methodologies and adult learning principles to drive engaging training delivery.

  • Develop instructor-led course materials, leveraging technology and tools to support/improve instruction as appropriate

  • Business Relationships & Alignment

  • Support Business Transformation and Readiness and Education strategic initiatives with cross-business impact and involvement.

  • Create and manage professional communications through available platforms.

  • Demonstrate agility and flexibility amid evolving business strategies.

  • Act as a key contributor in a complex and matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrate influence without authority skills.

  • Inspire team by identifying and recognizing successes.

Education Qualifications & Previous Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, Education or related field; Master’s preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in performance management/performance improvement, learning & development, talent development

  • Current knowledge in the fields of performance technology, performance consulting/improvement, human resources/talent development, organizational development, change management, instructional design, etc.

Desired/Additional Skills & Knowledge:

  • Certified Human Performance Technologist (ISPI)

  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (ATD)

  • Healthcare experience a plus

  • Influence without authority

  • Ability to develop and deliver learning to a wide range of audiences and cultures

Any Additional Information

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Home-based position, able to maintain a virtual, professional presence during business hours

  • Driving requirements dictate that the candidate possess and maintain a valid driver license and be at least 21 years old.

  • Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations

Salary Range Information

$107,500.00 - $177,300.00 USD Annual
