Engineering Project Management
Manage and direct all aspects of project execution (e.g. planning/scheduling, technical, quality, validation, regulatory, cost control, change control, reporting) ensuring compliance with approved work plans and regulations associated with a Class III medical device plant transfer. The qualified candidate will serve as the cross-functional team leader developing solutions that meet all project and stakeholder requirements.
Manages all aspects of projects, including monitoring scope, milestones, dependencies, costs and budget.
Develops project budgets and monitors performance against financial parameters, makes value-based decisions.
Create and maintain project documents, such as project plans, project dashboards,and teamand stakeholder communications.
Manages projects both large and small in scope,
Partners with R&D to ensure thatNPDprojects related to infrastructure and process equipment are appropriately resourced from an engineering and project management standpoint, to support or prepare justification for those projects, and to integrate them per plan from a cost and schedule standpoint.
Participates in the larger BD Facilities network in a way that creates and delivers value.
Has good knowledge and understanding of Lean facility design and actively participates within the Lean/CI function to continually assess opportunities.
Using input and expertise from local, DS, and BDX EH&S personnel, ensures that facilities areconstructed and maintained in a manner consistent with safe operations at all times.
Continuously assesses risk in project plans and seeks to minimize that risk, particularly where timelines and/or budget may be impacted (e.g.construction & process activities, resources, regulatory requirements, validation, sequencing,etc).
Develops business case, plans and budgets for prospective new opportunities.
Complies with all other local, state, federal, and BD regulations, policies, and procedures.
Works on complex problems on a regular basis.These problems may involve project management of facility build-outs or improvements, capital equipment procurement or new product introduction.
This position functions independently, with little to no direct supervision required.
The successful Sr. Project Manager will effectively communicate across all BDDS-NCfunctions, andwill effectively align within the business processes utilized across BD Life Sciences and BD Corporate as a whole.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineeringor computer science
Minimum of8years in Project Management
Minimum of 3 years managing cross-functional projects
Minimum of 3 years Engineering in a regulatedenvironment (e.g. FDA, cGMP, ISO, or NRC).
Site transfer / relocation experience
Proven track record of managing projects on time and on budget
Proven negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external partners and business contacts
Strong organizational skills
Detail oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to multitask and provide results in a timely manner
Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, Power Point and Project
Education and Experience Preferred:
Certification in Project Management (PMP)
Master’s degree in a technical or business field
Certification or experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
