Job Description Summary
How will you make an impact?
Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing, the Senior Manager Supply Chain , will play an integral part in aligning the production and material supply chain with the manufacturing and customer fulfillment requirements. The responsibilities include managing the on-going performance and continuous improvement of the processes and support of the processes. Responsible for managing the on-going performance and continuous improvement for our site suppliers and the planning and purchasing of such supplier provided materials.
What will you do?
Production Planning - Manage material planning, scheduling performance while ensuring flexibility to business conditions and company trends
Purchasing - Supplier performance, on time delivery, and costing activities while ensuring flexibility to business conditions and company trends
Facilitate weekly/monthly supply capacity planning meeting and ensure gaps between supply and plant capacity are clearly understood and communicated, and appropriate actions are in place to resolve.
Develop and execute inventory management strategies that support revenue growth, minimize risk of excess and/or obsolete finished goods and raw materials, while balancing inventory levels, availability requirements and financial goals (site & business unit) in collaboration with supply chain
Knowledge of supply chain/planning programs SAP SCMAPO/SAP ERP (more weighted on SAP ERP) and ability to manage project execution of these programs
Overall Supplier Performance; Managing Scorecards / Supplier Business Reviews in collaboration with Quality Assurance
year over year pricing and inventory improvement agreements with suppliers
Out-Sourcing / Re-Sourcing
Improve processes and creates efficiencies through lean initiatives (Practical Process Improvement) and project management
Maintain data and structures in the ERP, CRM and other operation systems.
Influence and collaborate with key partners in marketing, supply chain and finance, and address input gaps
Stakeholder driven, strategic solutions-based approach to materials management while creating strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and customers
Strong experience with Costing activities related to production planning
Strong customer service focus to enhance satisfaction, demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers or suppliers
Develop and track key output and performance metrics for critical performance measures
Provide input and recommendation in improving supply chain strategies, policies and practices to achieve Best-in-Class Supply Chain Management practices
Effective performance management and development of team
Manages the annual Performance Management and Development (PMP) and Human Resource Review (HRR) processes to maintain a robust staff that evolves into future leaders and is resilient to unexpected events
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing operations, business administration, operations management, purchasing
Requires a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience preferably in a high paced manufacturing environment
A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience leading a large dynamic team
Preferred commodity experience: Biologics/Reagents
Ideal candidate has purchasing/ERP experience and demonstrated results in materials shortage management and inventory control
Understands basics of financial and business analysis
Understands and is passionate about scorecard and metrics-based approaches to supply base management
Understands contracts and has led and negotiated various types of deals with multi-party stakeholders
Proven cost reduction track record
Program management skill’s preferred
Experience in a large matrixed company environment.
Brings fresh innovative ideas to improve group processes and effectiveness, aligned with our direction to de-emphasize transactions thru automation and outsourcing, and to drive sourcing partnership with engineering and to lead supply chain management with key suppliers

Self-driven, results oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision
Proficiency with off-the-shelf database applications
