This position is responsible for support of a variety of regulatory activities and projects, and/or personnel that support the advertising, labeling, and promotion area of the Regulatory Affairs team. This position requires a person with proven global knowledge of advertising and promotion regulations including the use of all types of social media. The successful candidate will provide Regulatory mentorship to Marketing and project teams; may work with regulators, develop and implement processes and systems, and stay abreast of global regulations to help MMS achieve its business goals within the scope of this position. This position works cross-functionally and has in-depth functional expertise and broad business knowledge. Contributes to functional strategy development. Strong cross functional influencing skills. Leads initiatives and provides expertise for multiple areas

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and communicate appropriately quantified risks and mitigation strategies associated with regulatory strategies to partners.

  • Communicate and support key principles of off-label and on-label communications, use of fair-balance, and the use of Internet and social media for product marketing, and other Regulatory considerations.

  • Proactively lead regulatory efforts required to follow new or changing global regulations and requirements.

  • Review and approve product labeling, promotional, and advertising materials to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Review protocols, reports, and journal articles to assure collection of appropriate data to support claims.

  • Lead efforts related to Regulatory impact of updated User Manuals,

  • Work closely with Marketing and project teams to develop, review, and substantiate product claims.

  • Write and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, and policies to maintain compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

  • Remain current on standards and regulations affecting advertising, promotion, and labeling and communicate the impact cross-functionally.

  • Identify ways to improve the efficiency of current work process and execute them.

Professional Skills & Key Proficiencies

  • Read, analyze, and interpret, and review scientific, technical, and regulatory literature and documents.

  • Optimall communicate information to peers and all levels of management.

  • Translate regulations and guidelines into terms that other functions can understand and apply.

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; communicate the conclusions both verbally and in writing to a mixture of audiences.

  • Tackle practical problems based on a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Excellent writing skills; both formatting as well as the development of a clear logic trail to develop conclusions based on an understanding of factual evidence.

  • Strong influencing skills. Establishes process and provides expertise for a specific area.

  • May supervise professional level staff.

Education Qualifications & Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably master’s degree in life sciences,

  • 5 years of strong Regulatory Affairs experience in the medical device industry.

  • Sound understanding of FDA, and global regulations and standards.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize/organize complex information.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.

Desired/Additional Skills & Knowledge:

Familiarity and background with advertising, promotion, and labeling in the medical device industry.

Certifications

RAC desired.
