BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Project Manager - Product Security in San Jose, California
Job Description Summary
The Product Security Project Manager will be responsible for improving the security of BD Biosciences analytical systems and solutions through appropriate design requirements, security risk management and customer communications. This person will oversee and direct the adoption of the corporate product security framework within the business unit and various other aspects of the overarching product security program within their BU portfolio of products (e.g. risk assessment, awareness/training, incident response, strategic initiatives, and external engagements). The Product Security Project Manager will collaborate with corporate security resources having expertise in security testing, architecture, incident response, and program management. This position reports to the BDB Product Security Officer.
Support BU adoption of product security framework activities by project teams
Project planning, budgeting, tracking progress, and execution of plans
Track and report adherence to product security requirements
Maintain and update security policies and procedures
Work with teams to ensure projects are meeting objectives and deadlines
Manage recurring coordination meetings and internal communications
Help teams achieve product security maturity that supports the design, deployment and operation of BD’s products and in alignment with corporate product security policy and procedures
May perform other duties as required
The product security manager will work with product teams and functional groups on determining objectives, scope and timeline for key initiatives in product security while enforcing adherence to schedules.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Science or Engineering. Ideal candidate will have a degree in project management, computer science, or technical discipline
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development project management.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product security preferred.
Proven ability to operate cross functionally to execute on BU-wide initiatives
Experience with Agile SDLC methodologies
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
PMP, CISSP, HCISPP certification preferred
Security best practices subject matter expertise in product development preferred
Driving technology strategies, preferably across a portfolio or platform of products or services
Domain specific standards and approaches on privacy and product security
Strategic thinking, but also able to drive execution; willing to roll up the sleeves to get the job done.
Entrepreneurial spirit and able to work independently and effectively in a results-oriented, efficient environment.
Experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from disparate sources in order to drive conclusions and recommendations
Must be comfortable managing and putting structure around ambiguous problems
Continuously improving and looking for innovative solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong technical acumen
Advanced computer skills and experience with MS office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
