Job Description Summary
As a member of the Electrical Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, certification, and support of sophisticated, long life, medical capital instrumentation. This equipment includes technology from many areas of science and engineering. We are looking for a senior level Electrical Engineer with a thorough understanding of electronic principles, theories, and designs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high quality and innovative solutions and assist in bringing current sustaining products into EMC and Safety Compliance to a wide range of challenging problems. You will be contributing to the completion of specific programs and projects. In this position you will be exercising latitude in resolving technical objectives for project assignments as well as selecting techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge, usually under the direction of engineering staff, repair, calibrate, and modify electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery for subsequent evaluation and use by engineering staff in making engineering design decisions.
Active participation in bringing sustaining instruments to current EMC and Safety Compliance Standards.
Hi-Pot testing, Line Filter and system power analysis.
Active participation in the update and redesign of electronic systems for existing products.
Direct involvement in all hardware design activities including: component selection, bring-up, compliance testing, documentation, and release to the production.
Effective interaction with multi-functional teams such as mechanical, systems, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing, and outside vendors.
Design changes will consist of Cable shielding, AC Wiring and Components.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
Knowledge of system electrical safety and EMI/EMC compliance and regulations.
Familiarity with PC interfaces and other industry-standard interface architectures.
Familiar with lab equipment: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer and function generator
Track record of estimating and completing hardware development tasks on time.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working in a matrix team environment.
Strong problem analysis and solving skills.
Experience working in a regulated environment.
Nice to have but not needed Pads layout and VX Mentor experience.
Willingness to travel locally up to 25% of the time.
