BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Technical Product Manager, Single Cell Multiomics in San Jose, California
Job Description Summary
Reporting to Global Director of Marketing, Single Cell Multiomics, the Technical Product Manager is accountable for the achievement of key marketing functional goals at a platform level. Influences the development and drives the execution of new applications (technology & bioinformatics) for single cell multiomics platform; contributes to top line sales growth by nurturing open opportunities in a CRM database such as salesforce.com; influences within work area/ department/ function; provides significant input into technical requirements for new products across the portfolio; plays critical role in key projects/ initiatives related to single cell multiomics. Demonstrates technical expertise through specific and advanced set of skills and knowledge, e.g. flow cytometry, single cell multiomics, bioinformatics, technical training, and application support.
Global Application Support: Plays an active role in developing and presenting technical scientific data related to applications development in defined adjacent spaces of single cell multiomics.
Bioinformatics Support: Work closely with Bioinformatics R&D team to track product requirements and design novel data analysis tools
Lead Nurturing: Work closely with field sales team and customers to nurture open opportunities to closed wins by providing “scientific & technical” support to customers and explaining the total value offering.
Customer Support: Work closely with customer support team and Field Application Specialists to enhance customer experience in the areas of technical queries related to software & data analysis
Responsible for supporting the generation of technical aspects (software) of the market requirement documents for new product development for BD Rhapsody platform.
Life Cycle Management: Participate in discussions related to sustaining and obsolescence of older products based on input from the field, customer support, service and regions.
Product Commercialization: Collaborate with upstream product managers to develop key tactics and marketing collateral for worldwide product launches matching the needs and expectations of changing market/customer landscape.
Responsible for developing content and delivering technical seminars, webinars and presentations at tradeshows, conferences and external customers sites.
Establishes technical training programs and application focused e-packets for sales teams, application specialists and external customers.
Requires a B.S. in a Life Sciences discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ph.D. in Immunology or Oncology preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a flow cytometry, NGS or life sciences industry. Business experience may include marketing, sales, application support, customer service or other related function.
Minimum of 3-5 years in technical product support. Experience and demonstrated track record in understanding product requirements from the market and gathering voice of the customer.
Requires a general knowledge of the Life Sciences market as well as the sales and marketing functions. Scientific and technical knowledge with the ability to develop and review technical product specifications and applications development plans based on customer needs is key.
Specific understanding of various applications related to single cell multiomics is necessary.
Effective skills in areas of interpersonal, oral and written communication, organization, prioritization and planning, goal setting, analytical and problem solving.
Results-oriented, capable of managing and driving the completion of multiple competing projects.
Prior experience with direct interaction with end-users / customers is preferred.
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic & international).
