Job Description Summary

The Electro-Mechanic (Automation Maintenance) role supports automated production lines by troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical failures. The successful candidate will be strong at troubleshooting and enjoy problem solving. This position will use these skills often throughout the shift to keep the machines running to meet production goals.

Make the necessary repairs to damaged equipment. As required, repair and maintain automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume, manufacturing environment. Troubleshoot and diagnose the manufacturing equipment in a timely manner. Assist engineers with all phases of the projects. This is a automation/controls lead position reporting through associate, or maintenance supervisor. Maintain the spare parts inventory system.

Shift: B Shift (6:00 PM- 6:00 AM. Scheduled to work 7-days in a 14-day period = 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, every other weekend is scheduled off)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely and interact with other groups within the Engineering and Operations departments.

  • Must have own basic industrial maintenance tools.

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with good manufacturing practices maintained within the company.

  • Proficient and being able to troubleshoot from electrical schematics, mechanical prints, preferred SolidWorks experience.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electronic controls such as contactors, servo drives, panel views, PLCs, I/O and power distribution on 24 VDC,120 VAC, 240 VAC, and 480 VAC systems.

  • Perform Troubleshooting activities to identify issues with equipment and repair said issues.

  • Assist Manufacturing engineers and operations with installation, assembly, setup, and debugging of automated machinery as needed.

  • Trouble shoot Allen Bradley ladder logic systems, SLC 500, Logix and Studio 5000.

  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s health and safety requirements including Lock Out Tag Out, PPE, electrical certifications, and requirements.

  • Familiar with Digital Networking including- Devicenet, Profibus, Sercos, and EtherNet/IP communications.

  • Communicate on-going issues with direct management.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment in a high-volume environment

  • Maintain, replace, and repair mechanical devices used on the manufacturing equipment

  • Ability to operate in a team environment or without supervision.

  • Stay in sync with all local BD quality policies, procedures and safety practices

  • Execute training plans.

  • Participate in LEAN process manufacturing.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A.S./A.A. degree in a manufacturing technology related field or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years' maintenance support experience in a high-volume, manufacturing environment, or equivalent.

  • Must have knowledge of electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills.

  • Must have knowledge in electronic controls for automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Must have knowledge of PLC controlled equipment preferably Allen Bradley platforms.

  • Working knowledge of a regulated industry and cGMP.
