Job Description SummaryPlan, design and coordinate the implementation of process engineering and quality improvement plans. Drive related activities in the department to support the ultimate objective of 100% equipment up-time, zero product defects and cycle time reduction.
Plan, implement and coordinate improvements to existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
Support the implementation of new processes and automation projects to the manufacturing floor.
Support and recommend the disposition of all non-conforming products.
Initiate and complete ECO process, including all related paperwork
Focus on and drive specific technical or capital improvement projects (CIP) in assembly, packaging, or other engineering disciplines as assigned.
Coordinate and communicate assigned projects with the applicable departments.
Specify and/or purchase equipment, tooling, and fixtures for process changes.
Define project budgets, create purchase orders, and propose CIPs.
Install and validate new equipment, tooling and fixtures for existing manufacturing process changes or replication. Responsible for documentation and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, as required, to complete assigned projects.
Positively lead teams to initiate change and improvements in area.
Participate in assigned career development training programs, including Validation Practitioner Green Belt training, and Lean Lite.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including HCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
B S degree in an engineering field, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred and two years of sufficient on-the-job experience.
AS degree in one of above fields and five years of sufficient on-the-job experience.
No degree with six years of sufficient on-the-job experience and a high school diploma or GED.
Two to six years of experience (depending on education level) in various engineering fields relating to manufacturing, quality control and process development.
Experience in highly automated manufacturing plant REQUIRED
Experience with SolidWorks, Visio, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and MS Project preferred.
