As directed by the Platform Leader, the Quality Engineer II is accountable for supporting new product development and product maintenance through the application of Quality engineering skills for medical devices. This person will handle projects and tasks, from product inception through product launch and maintenance and play an active role in the processes to ensure products meet quality standards consistent with all applicable procedures and standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that projects are compliant to internal procedures and external standards/requirements.

  • Develops solutions to issues of limited scope & complexity.

  • Cultivates a working relationship with international manufacturing sites to follow up and assist with complaint analysis

  • Conducts audits as member of a quality system audit team.

  • Generates and updates risk management documentation.

Strategic Orientation:

  • Contributes to and reviews design documentation, data analysis, protocols and reports.

  • Recommends and executes strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Implements and communicates the technical direction for the project team

  • Identifies issues that may delay the project and recommends appropriate actions

Sphere of Influence:

  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined goals and objectives.

  • Creates and supports implementation of Quality procedures and documentation

  • May be assigned as core team member or extended core team member

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred) highly preferred

  • 2 years experience in a Quality function preferred.

  • Class II / III medical device experience, or other regulated industry (ISO9001 or 13485)

  • Risk Management experience (ISO14971)

  • Experience implementing Design Control principles (21CFR820 Subpart C).

  • Certified Quality Engineer optional

  • Certified Quality Auditor optional
