Job Description Summary

Reporting directly to the VP, BDI - CASAJ, this role is responsible for working with the commercial leaders in Asia to develop and implement sales, marketing, and support strategies for Urology & Critical Care (UCC).This role is accountable for UCC CASAJ performance working in close collaboration and alignment with the UCC Platform Leaders. Responsibilities will include UCC product marketing support, setting the three-year strategic, operational and financial plan for the UCC Business Unit in collaboration with the VP, BDI - CASAJ. He/she will be a member of the Regional BDI Leadership Team and of the WW UCC BU Leadership Team.

Job Description

  • Partner with the key countries and lead UCC marketing activities in the Asia region. Be aware of market conditions, pricing trends and the effectiveness of pricing actions; consult with process owner regarding all new and existing pricing plans to ensure regional pricing harmony and local competitiveness.

  • Build a market development roadmap to be included in and refreshed annually as part of the strategic planning process to achieve strategic plan for the region. Ensure market access, market development, user development / training and sales structure / execution plans.

  • Partner with the key countries to develop and maintain market and competitive intelligence including market size, share and potential, competitor positions and pipeline, and healthcare regulations and practices for all key product platforms.

  • Position is responsible for understanding and representing the “Voice of the Region” in all planning processes including but not limited to strategic planning, new product development plans, pipeline assessment and global registrations.

  • Work with commercial leaders and global platforms in alignment with VP, BDI – CASA J to define new opportunities for entry into UCC’s product development funnel.

  • Participate in the NPD and portfolio planning process to ensure Global input and impact. Identify key market needs and technology solutions. Facilitate IPOA and POA input including financial modeling and forecast.

  • Partner with all stakeholders in providing the appropriate services in terms of product portfolio management, product launch, communication, pricing, and business development.

  • To highlight and work with Global to identify any acquisition targets in the region that can potentially have an immediate, visible impact on UCC’s profit margin and growth rate in the region. (we would to remove as this is not a huge portion of the role’s responsibilities)

  • Build capabilities to enable business development for the BU in the Asia region; and ensure business development is central to the long-term strategic process / ASR process for the business in the region.

  • Work closely with commercial leaders to support country organizations in optimizing their go-to-market strategy in order to drive customer centricity and create solutions that establish UCC as a partner for advancing the world of healthcare.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive sales and marketing reporting systems to track critical BU KDGs.

  • Responsible for upstream communications to the BU and downstream implementation of marketing and sales strategies through the commercial leaders in the countries.

  • Proactively monitors the financial performance of the business and any deviations from critical project plans. Ensures implementation of any necessary contingency plans and/or corrective actions to effectively mitigate risks.

  • Sponsors, leads and/or provides oversight on major multi-disciplinary and/or cross-business projects and initiatives on a regular or ad-hoc basis.

  • Responsible for building capabilities by identifying, coaching and developing future leaders within UCC and create opportunities for development.

III. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field. MBA or equivalent business experience preferred

IV. Experiences

  • Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in Sales and Marketing, including a minimum of five (5) years of management experience. Preferably five (5) years relevant experience in the medical devices market.

  • Mastery of marketing, selling and new business development skills.

  • Candidate should preferably have an experience of directly leading/managing a commercial team/P&L for a geography/region

V. Knowledge and Skills

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous working experience with general management and P&L responsibility, either in global or regional business leadership role

  • Strong track record of business / commercial success in a health care environment

  • Solid knowledge of Asia healthcare systems, environment and its key stakeholders

  • Experience and/or capability to collaborate effectively with external leaders and key influencers

  • Experience in leading cross-sector initiatives

  • Knowledge in urology and critical care market is preferable

  • Demonstrated skills in attracting talent, leading and motivating organizations
