The Service Supply Chain Planner 3 leads important aspects of Service Parts Supply Chain – forecasting, planning, deployment and rebalancing of Service spare parts. This position also manages Service Parts Forecasting Tool, forecast over-rides, preventive maintenance Kits’ forecast using ServiceMax schedules and follow-up with the fulfillment teams on parts that are below target levels or stocked out. A big part of the responsibility would be to create, own & improve metrics, dashboards and workflows and play a support role in other supply chain activities like repair operations, inventory optimization & regional planning.

  • Play a key role in the implementation work of Service Parts Planning Software – with a view to managing the tool post implementation for optimal benefits.

  • Create monthly forecast at Baltimore level using Forecasting Tool for Service spare parts using different statistical algorithms and upload the forecast to SAP.

  • Support regional safety stock computations using historical data and statistics and work with the Service Regions for updating safety stock parameters in regional systems.

  • Manage and maintain safety stocks at forward stocking locations in the US and ensure spare parts are deployed and rebalanced to ensure optimal network health.

  • Work with the regions globally to help deploy spare parts from Baltimore DC to ensure optimal network health.

  • Give specific attention to shortage parts and stocked out parts and create a recovery plan for every single part, working with the global supply chain team.

  • Manage forecasts for new-new and repaired parts so that availability is maintained at the recommended levels.

  • Communicate with the warehouse teams to assist in shipping orders created for deployment and with the regions on ongoing status of their orders.

  • Work with Forecast Tool vendor to find solutions for any problems encountered and put corrective actions in place.

  • Maintain key SOPs and Work Instructions for managing specific situations in the Forecasting Tool.

  • Maintain dashboards, metrics and other Service Supply Chain relevant analytics as decided and agreed upon.

  • Maintain and manage inventory within agreed upon targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Service supply chain activities, preferably relating to Healthcare Industry.

  • Inventory Management, Planning & Forecasting, Order Management & Delivery and Escalation Management

  • SAP, SAP BI, ServiceMax hands-on Experience or similar software. Specific hands-on experience with Service Parts Forecasting Tools like Servigistics, XELUS, Baxter Planning, Syncron etc. will be a big plus.

  • Working knowledge on data management/visualization tools like Cognos, Qlikview etc. is desirable

  • Advanced MS Excel skills – Formulae, Macro, Pivot Table, Data Input Utility and MS Share Point Customizing Skills

  • Knowledge and exposure to Continuous Improvement techniques like LEAN & Six Sigma

  • Statistical analysis skills preferred

  • Project management experience preferred

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics. Master’s Degree will be a plus.

  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Supply Chain & Fulfilment Operations. Specific exposure to Service Operations will be a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%)

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and reach.

  • Ability to view computer monitor and use keyboard for prolonged period of time

  • Ability to sit for prolonged period of time, handling, fingering, listening, near vision, midrange vision in connection with performing essential functions.
