BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Operations Financial Analyst in Sparks, Maryland
Job Description Summary
The Operations Financial Analyst is responsible for acting as the cost center controller for several US Diagnostic Systems manufacturing support cost centers functions including Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business Process. As such, this role partners with functional operations leaders to develop and achieve spending budgets and forecasts, generate performance reporting insights, and provide guidance on risks and opportunities. Additional responsibilities would include bi-weekly North American absorption/activity hours flash reports, monthly US manufacturing cost center spend reporting, and ownership of key US monthly close-out tasks including variance-based Input Price, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Waste.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partners with functional operations leaders to develop and achieve spending budgets and forecasts, generate performance reporting insights, and provide guidance on risks and opportunities.
Partners with internal and external Facility management teams to analyze spending, and support / track Capital Spending projects.
Responsible for executing bi-weekly North American absorption/activity hours flash reports.
Execution of monthly US manufacturing cost center spend reporting.
Ownership of key US monthly close-out tasks including variance-based Input Price, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Waste.
Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls and participates in testing as required.
Performs reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts as required.
BS or BA in Accounting and/or Finance required.
Minimum of 1-2 years’ of relevant professional experience in a corporate environment.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, logic and v-lookup formulas, and visualizations) and PowerPoint.
Enrollment or attainment of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or MBA credentials considered a plus.
Experience with SAP considered a plus.
Manufacturing experience preferred
Hyperion / HFM Financial Reporting experience
Medical industry experience is a plus
