Job Description Summary
R&D Scientist I is responsible for performing bench experiments to support microbiology product development projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervised by R&D senior scientist, the successful candidate will be responsible for following the protocols and instructions to perform microbiology experiments at the bench.
Collect, record, report and present results to peers and supervisor/manager either orally and in writing. Develop solutions to routine technical problems related to the assigned projects.
Provide experimental data and technical input to other scientists within R&D and provide support to other functional groups in pursuit of project objectives. Work closely with team members in the Growth Microbiology organization to integrate the necessary knowledge for developing new media formulations, supplementations or reagent configurations to promote enhanced media performance in automated microbiological systems.
Perform analytical test procedures related the evaluation and/or optimization of microbial growth media. Knowledge and ability in data manipulation and statistical analysis.
Knowledge and skills:
Experience in laboratory techniques in microbiology with demonstrated skills in adapting procedures to meet specific objectives and solve problems.
Understand and follow the biosafety principal of working in microbiology labs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary together with a history of self-motivation and work in a team environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in life sciences with working experience in microbiology.
Experience in research in microbiology, biochemistry or a related field.
Demonstrated Skills in Data base management and data analysis.
