Job Description SummaryPerform tasks necessary for the manufacture of medical instruments. Under general supervision, works independently on routine duties.
Assignments may be complex and require ability to operate a variety of production equipment and follow manufacturing procedures.
Conducts all activities to comply with Safety and Quality Standard and Human Resource Policies and Procedures.
Manufacture, test, and execute all related production activities in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and in accordance with BD's expectations for Safety and Quality.
All work completed in accordance to BD's defined specifications, operating procedures, and company policies.
Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through execution of all housekeeping responsibilities including cleaning, sweeping, organizing to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Focus on System Performance, Repair, & Complex trouble shooting
Associates degree in relevant field and 3 - 5 years relevant experience.
8 to 10 years of specific BD Instrument Manufacturing experience coupled with relevant technical training could substitute for an associate’s degree.
Proficient technical understanding/electrical theory acumen.
Strong analytic ability.
Integration of sub-assemblies into the instrument
Ability to understand and interpret complex, multi-level assembly drawings.
Strong proficiency in utilization, maintenance, and identification of proper mechanical tools to perform duties.
Capable in assembling multiple product lines.
Electronics and Testing Proficiency
"Extensive understanding and knowledge about electronic theory and performance
Ability to understand and follow any test instructions on the most complex instruments
Ability to troubleshoot and repair even the most complex of issues or challenges with a process driven approach.
Ability to optimize system performance including precision of movement and/or light systems
System Performance analysis and comprehension.
Experience and Performance as the SME for complex instruments and ability to work with minimal support from Engineers / Technicians
Ability to analyze instrument performance and investigate to root cause and repair, even with minimal information.
Ability to investigate, document, and communicate root cause, trends, and system challenges for Quality Investigations and/or CI
Ability to train associates on testing complex systems, conducting repair activities, and conduct complex trouble shooting

Proven ability to achieve goals and improve performance processes across a team, work cell, or project.
Work effectively across all functions including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning and Purchasing, etc. as needed.
Must be able to perform standard material handling functions for instrument raw materials and sub-assemblies.
Ability to drive for results across a variety of areas.
Comply with physical requirements specified in the Occupational Analysis.
Must be able to pass required periodic skills certification requirements.
Must be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changes.
