Role will involve developing new (and enhancing existing) automated programs in Excel VBA, pulling and pushing data to our other business systems. Secondarily there will be analysis work developing and launching numerous tracking dashboards for the business to use.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • We have several transactional processes that we would like to automate within our manufacturing plants at shipping, receiving, manufacturing order manipulation, scrap transactions, etc.

  • This individual may work with existing code that needs enhancing as well as develop code from scratch.

  • This will be a hands-on role where the person will be expected to first understand the business and operational processes in detail through observation and interview and then work through the development and testing of the developed applications, including producing any necessary work instructions for the programs.

  • There will also be opportunity to enhance and develop various dashboards, tracking different critical key performance indicators for the manufacturing plants such as inventory status, output metrics, capacity planning data, etc. that will be used by the business to assist in strategic and tactical production planning.

Education Requirements

  • At least 2 years of course work completed in a bachelor’s degree program for business analytics/engineering or similar experience in data analytics/programming

Baseline Skill Expectations

  • Excellent Excel VBA coding skills in MS Excel, not limited to macros, pivot tables, array management, data manipulation, power query, error handling, debugging and deployment

  • Meticulous coding discipline and documentation

  • Technical and logical capability to solve problems

  • Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal oversight required

  • A curious nature and a desire to improve

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Windows operating systems

  • Knowledge of database development and maintenance using Microsoft SQL Server

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Visio, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Willingness and desire to learn new operations

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality

  • Be willing and available to occasionally work a flexible schedule

  • 2023 graduation or sooner pursuing a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Industrial/Systems Engineering or related disciplines

  • Interest in analytics, process optimization, manufacturing operations; prior experience a plus

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, listening, and interpersonal skills; High attention to detail while multi-tasking on complex deliverables
