This position is for 2nd shift, 10 hours workdays.

3pm-1:30 am Monday - Thursday

Job Overview

We are looking for talented individuals that are skilled, can be trained or have performed similar manual activities some of the following manufacturing processes: brazing, sandblasting, grinding, polishing, buffing, bending, filing, shaping, finishing assembly and final fit of metal products to manufacture surgical instruments. The individuals who join our team will need to be able to measure specified tolerances and material finish utilizing abrasive belts, grinding wheels, hand tools, gauges, and other equipment. As your skill level increases, there is opportunity to grow as the complexity of the operations levels increase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Will operate within the plant/shop safety rules and maintain good housekeeping practices.

  • Maintains quality and productivity levels during the manufacturing process.

  • Operates and adheres to general plant rules and policies, EH&S policies, and good documentation practices.

  • Works cohesively with others in a team environment.

  • Perform various operations in manufacture of surgical instruments under close to moderate supervision by an experienced Lead of Finisher of a higher position.

  • Operator will follow specific procedures and instructions to assemble component parts into finished goods.

  • Perform polishing/grinding operations utilizing stationary floor mounted equipment which requires leaning forward with arms extended over grinding motor from a sitting position for extended periods of time.

  • The primary work stance is sitting with limited standing, bending, or twisting required for the Instrument Maker.

  • Occasional movement of product weighing up to 50 pounds from one workstation to another.

  • Visual inspection of the products produces to identify quality problems.

  • The position also requires that all employees operate within plant safety and shop rules and maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and plant.

  • As your skill level increases, there is opportunity to grow as the complexity of the operations levels increase.

  • Ability to hold / manipulate small parts / objects with good dexterity

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED Preferred

  • Prefer 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably in assembly and manufacture with some measurement experience.

  • Dexterity and attention to detail, this position requires hand-eye coordination and depth perception.

  • Ability to read blueprint is highly desirable.
