Reporting to Supply Chain Management, the Business Systems Administrator is responsible for promoting and developing the effective utilization of Sumter Business Systems (SAP™, APRISO/Flexnet and related applications) with particular focus on functionality relating to Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) activities (Supply Planning, Production Planning, Manufacturing and Warehousing). The Business Systems Administrator has responsibility at the Sumter plan level for the governance for Master Data that relates to Manufacturing Materials and which drives ISC functionality, working with key stakeholders to ensure that data remains relevant to the functions it is driving and that any changes are subject to the appropriate corporate of local change control processes.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

On-Site administration of SAP™, APRISO/Flexnet Business Systems and integration between the systems. Principle point-of-contact between Sumter site and the wider IDS business and BDX global support organization on matters relating to Sumter Business Systems

Assist in the development and understanding of Sumter Business Systems reports (BI, Apriso, other as available) required to manage the day-to-day business.

Diagnose root cause of system failures, define and undertake the appropriate corrective actions, engaging the appropriate support (internal or external) where vital.

Coordinate and facilitate improvement programs related to data input and use of software systems.

Keeps site management and associates appraised of Sumter Business Systems developments and modifications as appropriate.

Prepare analyses and make recommendations regarding improvement to plant business processes achievable with Sumter Business Systems functionality. Including but not limited to: BOM and routing updates, manufacturing system calendars, LTP functionality, trouble shooting, data cleansing and file uploads.

Drive development of training procedures and practices that will assure Sumter Business Systems proficiency of the workforce, utilizing SME’s in specific functional areas.

Determine and recommend assignment of security profiles which are appropriate for associate tasks, and which will minimize conflict of roles and responsibilities in SAP™. Ensure that all change requests are implemented using the approved BD methodology and have the appropriate level of authorization and documentation.

Supervise and maintain the integrity of the design of, and master data used by, Sumter Business Systems. Build master data for new parts; modify existing data to ensure accuracy; create procedures for master data control.

Drive world class system utilization and optimization for Sumter Business Systems and act as a process/system knowledge resource for the Sumter Plant.

Education:

BA/BS Degree (Business, Computer Science).

Experience and Knowledge:

Minimum 3 years ERP and Shop Floor Systems/ Supply Chain/ Operations

Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning programs and Quality Assurance techniques.

Proficient in use of computer software, specifically, MS Office programs

Experience in project management.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Certification:

CPIM - preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Regularly required to take a leading role, such as assigning activities to other associates who perform work that is similar or closely related to this position (50% or more of the time).
