JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the calibration of measuring and test equipment in the Sumter Plant. Additionally, this person has the responsibility for maintaining the record database for the instruments being calibrated. Reports directly to the Site Validation Leader. 1st shift hours, candidate must be flexible with shift hours to ensure production needs.

  • Calibrates and tests electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instruments used in production, laboratory, inside or outside, shop or field per approved plant policies and procedures.

  • Develops calibration procedures for new instruments as needed.

  • Maintains a computerized database and a filing system for documentation purposes in support of Quality System Requirements and ISO requirements. Information includes instrument data, calibration and repair history, completed data sheets with precision and accuracy calculations, and calibration schedules.

  • Follows calibration procedures and issues correspondences identifying nonconforming instruments.

  • Identifies defective measurement equipment. Performs first line electrical or mechanical repairs. Makes determination on need to send equipment out for repairs. Issues work-orders, sends equipment, and keeps track of status of repairs. Calibrates equipment prior to returning it to the floor.

  • Familiar with and calibrates recording and controlling instruments used to control such physical properties as temperature, pressure, humidity, time, speed, dimensions, gases, levels, flow, and vibration.

  • Constructs special instrumentation for measurement of various properties and for development of new products and processes.

  • Reads electrical and electronic circuit drawings.

  • Possesses familiarity with and follows applicable codes and company practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements.Cleans job site and tools.

  • Stores tools and equipment in designated places in an orderly manner.

  • Coordinates all Calibration activities in the plant, ensuring accurate and timely calibration by associates performing activity.

  • Trains associates in performing calibrations, calibration data entering and the use of new measurement equipment.
