Position Summary

Reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Supply Chain. Coordinates and supervises key activities related to the Receiving and Warehouse areas. Provides capable leadership and motivation to all associates in the assigned areas (including supervision). Effectively executes all activities in compliance with the highest safety, quality, service and total cost objectives of the business at all times. Navigates the organization to ensure understanding and alignment within the Supply Chain Department as well as with broader stakeholders.

Essential Roles

  • Provides leadership and supervision (either directly or indirectly) for all salaried and hourly associates assigned to the Receiving and Warehouse areas, encompassing a four-shift operation for Warehouse and one shift operation for Receiving.

  • Directs the receiving and storage of raw materials.

  • Coordinates incoming shipments to maximize dock and unloading efficiency

  • Coordinates inventory activities including cycle counts in the Raw Material Warehouse. Also coordinates cycle counts for offsite warehouses, if needed

  • Maintains a 98% inventory accuracy level consistent with SAP requirements through good inventory practices and verified by a cycle counting program.

  • Reviews and revises stock layout of the Warehouse (s) as required to insure maximum use of space.

  • Properly rotates stock on a FIFO basis to insure the usage of raw materials and WIP on a timely basis and in compliance with company shelf-life policies as they relate to the shipment of finished goods.

  • Directs the storage of items placed on hold by Quality Assurance to assure they are physically isolated and not available for use by Production.

  • Directs the storage of experimental materials used for production trials, engineering trials, material change projects, etc

  • Reviews and implements company policies, practices and training programs.

  • Coordinates with the Outbound Supply Chain Manager to develop the annual budget for the Shipping/Receiving department that includes manpower, facility, equipment, routine operating and capital expenditures.

  • Manages department expenditures within the budget and forecast.

  • Recommends and justifies capital expenditures.

  • Assures that all equipment is well maintained so that it will operate in a safe and effective manner.

  • Makes recommendations when equipment needs to be replaced.

  • Coordinates with quality for the storage of raw material, WIP and Finished Good retain samples

Accountable for :

  • Efficient warehousing involving the timely and accurate receipt and storage of goods in compliance with plant/distribution objectives as required.

  • Updating SAP in a timely and efficient manner.

  • The proactive communication of performance, challenges or opportunities met by Receiving & Warehouse overall.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Plays a critical role as a Manager of the Supply Chain Department: actively contributes to / supports initiatives, communicates across the organization and drives efficiency.

Education :

  • BA/BS degree in technical or business discipline, required.

Experience and Knowledge :

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in warehousing, distribution, and administrative functions in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent related experience), with emphasis on maintaining and utilizing a computerized inventory system to control inventories and ensure proper stock rotation preferred
