BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Product Manager, Disposables in Sydney, Australia

Job Description Summary

The role is accountable for the management of the disposables product portfolio to ensure sustained profitable growth. The role requires a self-starter who has the capability of working autonomously, seeking less than daily guidance from the Marketing Manager. Manages interaction with internal & external customers, and end-user enquires. Manages all internal process to ensure product continuity and compliance with regulatory and quality functions at BD.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverages BD Way of Sales and Marketing to achieve short and long-term business objectives for the assigned portfolios, and ensure that sales and gross profit targets are achieved annually.

  • Plays supportive role for Marketing Manager in key projects/ initiatives, associated with portfolios.

  • Support the agreed sales and marketing tactics to develop maximum market share, sales and profit growth in line with overall country plan objectives, ensuring that internal customers understand and are committed to their successful implementation and evaluation.

  • Ensure that all activities of the marketing group are consistent with the BD core values and comply with relevant acts, legal demands, and regulatory and ethical standards.

  • Preparation of tenders and contracts in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and Tenders and Contracts Management.

  • Maintain a standard of excellence in product knowledge with key customer facing groups including the sales team, sales management team, customer service and external customers.

  • Build positive working relationships with key external and internal customers, working cross-functionally with Sales Representatives, Sales Managers, Customer Service, Inventory Planners, Finance, Regulatory and other BD marketing teams to achieve objectives. Actively participate in relevant BD world-wide and regional marketing team meetings.

  • In conjunction with demand planners, maintain appropriate inventory levels and product forecasting and involvement in S&OP processes.

  • Management of expenses to budget.

  • Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System as maintained by BD Australia.

  • Responsible for, but in conjunction with, Marketing Manager manage quarterly financial forecasting and annual budgeting for the assigned product portfolios.

  • Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System as maintained by BD Australia and New Zealand.

  • Other related tasks at the discretion of management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of business experience in the Medical Device industry

  • Minimum of 2 years in product and/or market management. Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training, business development

  • Clinical experience advantageous

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in identifying Market Opportunities, Market Segmentation, Targeted Marketing, Competitive Analysis, Pricing Strategy and Go to Market models and strategies

  • Experience in a matrix environment.
