Job Description Summary

The Associate Director of HR for the Peripheral Intervention Business will be a strategic HR business partner for key functional groups and serve as a key liaison between those functions and Human Resources. This HR role will primarily oversee the support of the sales and marketing functions, with a total population of 450+ employees.

The position reports to the VP, Human Resources for Peripheral Intervention and is in Tempe, AZ. Will partner with both functional leaders and their direct reports to understand and support key business priorities, including talent needs, optimal organizational structure, and drive a culture of accountability, ethical behavior, inclusion and diversity, and associate engagement. In addition, this position is the primary HR leader on several critical HR projects, policy implementations, compensation issues, staffing and change management activities. Requires the individual to build and maintain effective relationships with senior level leaders as well as employees at all levels.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes

  • Assist in forecasting and planning the talent pipeline requirements in line with budgetary confines and the function/business strategy

  • Drive a business culture of ethical behavior, inclusion and diversity, innovation, manager and associate engagement and accountability.

  • Develop and deliver HR related training

  • Key success factors include being readily accessible, pro-active, highly responsive, exceptional communication skills, and able to provide sound business and employee solutions as needed.

  • Ensure leadership and coaching culture is cascaded through the organization

  • Provide clear leadership by demonstrating understanding of business trends and needs

  • Drive the people processes (performance management, development, and career) to ensure that employees’ level of performance and capabilities meet current and future needs

  • Effectively manage and resolve employee relation issues in an objective and timely manner

  • Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR calendar as well as participate in fu Identify and interpret HR metrics and trends, offering solutions to the business when appropriate

  • Provide expert advice and coaching to employees where appropriate

  • Provide feedback as necessary regarding employee and management performance

  • Identify and drive the communication and sharing of learning across functions to facilitate continuous organizational improvement

  • Manage recruiting and retention strategies with internal staffing groups and business partners

  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Education Required:

  • BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • SHRM – SCP, CP, SPHR or PHR certification is desired.

Experience and Work Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of overall HR experience in a generalist role. To include experience in employee relations, strategic planning, change management, organizational design, and compensation related activities.

  • Ability to travel and work varied hours based on business needs and issues. Travel requirement can be as high as 25%

  • Experience supporting sales personnel and/or marketing functions in the healthcare industry preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, including areas of EEOC, FMLA, ADA, etc...

  • Experience investigating and bringing to resolution complicated employee relation issues, including partnering with in-house legal counsel to resolve matters

  • Must have strong communications skills, focused on ensuring supervisor and other key individuals are kept informed of significant issues.

  • Ability to travel to customers or meetings as needed on a regular basis.

  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design and change management communication

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, and use hands to file and operate computer.

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
