BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Graphics Intern in Tempe, Arizona

Job Description SummaryThis position is part of the label development team whose responsibility is to support the Label Design for existing products and new product development. Knowledge of proofreading, art design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of product labeling are required. Graphics Intern positions are under the close supervision of Graphic Labeling personnel. The position is responsible for working with Graphics Coordinator, Graphic Labeling Specialists, and Graphic Labeling Manager to perform basic labeling tasks and routine labeling activities.

Job Description

Essential / Key Job Responsibilities:

  • General graphic design/copy work

  • Label barcode grading

  • Receive artwork change requests and ensure redline accuracy and proper documentations provided to support change.

  • Coordinate and support artwork reviews and record retention processes.

  • Support independent verification, translation verification, and label verification processes.

  • Perform clerical duties as necessary, i.e. typing, filing, maintain databases, and prepare general correspondence. Use various computer software applications to complete assigned work activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program majoring in Graphic Design or equivalent. Must meet minimum requirements for internship within School.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communications, customer focus, self-motivation, professionalism, and team building.

  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, as well as a busy and changing workload.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 3 or higher preferred.

  • Knowledge of EDMS preferred.

  • Working knowledge on use of thermal transfer printers and their capabilities preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program majoring in Graphic Design or equivalent.

  • Must meet minimum requirements for internship within School.
