The Sourcing Analyst I is an entry-level position that has a broad range of responsibilities including purchasing, sourcing, and managing materials and services to support the business.

  • Purchase products and services for other Bard departments, including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, and more.

  • Be a communication liaison between Bard and assigned suppliers including negotiations, product requirements, quality issues, timelines, sample requirements, inventory builds, and ongoing service and material requirements.

  • Expedite materials when required and handle any rejections / late deliveries. Communicate problems to management as needed. Enforces all applicable purchasing and SOX policies.

  • With support from Sr. Sourcing Analyst / Manager:

  • Conduct RFQs/RFPs and negotiate best price, delivery, and terms and conditions. Analyze and evaluate quotations submitted to bid requests.

  • Perform inventory management, planning, and reporting functions.

  • May lead project teams on internal sourcing and/or supplier projects. Monitor progress and coordinate with other departments within Bard.

  • Update and maintain vendor master file and maintains supplier scorecards. Assist in maintaining contract database.

  • Recommend cost savings improvements that have been identified during course of daily business.

  • Process division procurement card requests and perform month-end reconciliation.

  • Team Player: Able to work with all stakeholders and team members. Able to gain commitment from the organization to meet timelines and influence others without direct authority.

  • Driver and Goal Orientated: With some guidance, must quickly identify the tasks needed to support the dynamic changes of the various projects and create the necessary actions within the Sourcing/Procurement organizations and stakeholders.

  • Clear Communicator: Strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Able to develop and present information needed for Sr. Analysts and Managers. Able to analyze projects as it relates to Sourcing/Procurement and communicate challenges/issues/delays and suggest solutions.

  • Organized (self and others). Demonstrated ability to keep organized with multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Good decision making and problem solving skills. Detail-oriented.

  • Comfortable with Ambiguity: Comfortable working in ambiguous situations with some guidance from Sr. Sourcing Analyst / Manager. Possesses a positive questioning attitude, able and willing to dive into the why.

BS degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or Accounting OR equivalent years of experience.

0-4 years of sourcing/purchasing experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of current sourcing and purchasing practices.

Negotiations experience a plus.

ERP systems experience a plus.

Experience in advanced Excel functions / macros a plus
