Summary:
With direction from the Convention Manager, the Sr. Convention Associate will be responsible for the planning and execution of national conventions. This roll will also be responsible for managing the regional meeting program for the PI business as well.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and execution of regional meetings and national conventions
Work closely with Marketing to develop marketing collateral and presentation materials for conventions/events
Handle streamlined communications from beginning to end of convention including pre planning emails, kick off calls, briefing book, pre con meeting and post-show debriefs.
Lead cross BU and region collaboration as needed when shows include multiple business units
Work with exhibit house to design booths within allotted show budget
Coordinate all aspects of hotel room block reservations and badges
Manage the logistics for all symposia and ancillary events associated with the convention
Coordinate product, literature, and capital equipment as needed for conventions
Attend all conventions/events and provide support to on-site staff
Handle society and vendor relationships while elevating the BD brand
Post-convention/event duties include reporting and reconciliation of expenses and credit card statements, processing reimbursements, and updating convention databases
Manage the fulfillment site for regional meeting materials. Approve sales reps orders and manage inventory levels
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of five years of tradeshow or event management experience
Budget tracking and expensing experience
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Travel required approximately 30% of time
Ability to work weekends and certain holidays as needed.
