Supply Chain Demand Planner II

Overview

This Demand Planner II role will have primary responsibility for forecasting activities within the assigned Platforms and Product Lines to achieve business objectives and customer service goals. This role requires a natural leader and facilitator who is driven and innovative with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of forecasting strategies and proven positive impact to forecast accuracy in a high mix environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Utilize analytical, marketing and sales data to effectively forecast global product requirements across a high mix portfolio.

  • Support the monthly demand SIOP reviews with the cross-functional business teams.

  • Support process improvement solutions to increase demand forecast accuracy.

  • Monitor demand real-time highlighting variances from the forecast to proactively identify potential service issues and mitigate future customer impact.

  • Responsible for product phase-out planning such that obsolete inventory is minimized.

  • Partner with global supply planners to understand impacts to demand plans and proactively mitigate risk to customer service, inventory levels and cost.

  • Responsible for SIOP and forecast accuracy reporting, including team report out.

  • Team with global supply and operations teams to align market and financial requirements with manufacturing capabilities.

  • Coordinate with global supply and operations teams to provide inputs to the global inventory allocation strategies as needed

  • Provide input for SKU rationalization, RECODE, and other lifecycle management initiatives.

  • Develop and utilize complex spreadsheet analysis for statistical forecasting processes, scenario planning, issue resolution, and financial analyses.

  • Query databases for information required for decision-making.

  • Provide insight and analyses to Business Unit leadership as needed in addition to supporting annual Business Planning process.

  • Prepare Executive Level presentations as required.

  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have strong experience and knowledge of demand/supply/production planning, forecasting techniques, inventory management, capacity leveling and logistics.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts impacting the business strategy.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven record of strong teaming skills.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively engage with multiple levels of management and cross-functional organizations (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.).

  • Advanced Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data.

  • Multi-year experience with planning systems, ERP systems experience required, APS system experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated customer-centric focus and experience dealing with global markets.

  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task.

  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in a dynamic and energetic matrix organization with continuously changing program constraints.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operations, or related degree; or MBA/MS in relevant discipline.

  • 3-5 years forecasting, planning and/or manufacturing experience required.

  • Demonstrated experience working in ERP systems (i.e. JDE, SAP, etc.) required.

  • Knowledge and awareness of Lean techniques and Six Sigma experience a plus.

  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or IBF (CPF, ACPF) certification desired

  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, QlikView, Tableau, etc.) a plus.
