Job Summary:

The World Wide Infusion Specialty Disposables Business Group (WWISD). WW ISD is a $1.3B business group comprised of 6 businesses: IV Line Access, Hazardous Drug Safety, Gravity and Syringe Delivery, US and Alaris System Infusion Pump Sets, OUS Infusion Pump Sets, and OEM.

The Global IV Line Access (IVA) and Hazardous Drug Safety (HDS) businesses are valued at $400M+ and are focused on the globalization of clinically differentiated devices to protect patients and healthcare workers.

The $270M global IV Line Access (IVA) business is the largest of the Medication Delivery Systems (MDS) businesses within WWISD and is focused on the globalization of clinically differentiated devices to protect patients across care settings by reducing the risk of catheter-related complications.

The $150M global Hazardous Drug Safety (HDS) platform is focused on driving hazardous drug management solutions to protect health care workers from exposure risk.

The Manager role is responsible for driving successful execution of the global IVA and HDS innovation funnel, serving as the marketing lead on new product development projects for both portfolios. This position will work in close partnership with R&D, operations, regulatory, quality, finance, and other functional teams across BD to advance projects and deliver comprehensive business cases, product requirements, and commercialization plans from concept through launch.

Job Description:

  • Work collaboratively with functional teams to advance prioritized projects in line with key business goals for revenue, profitability, and timing.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs and clinical application in the vascular access and hazardous drug safety space.

  • Define and lead required voice of customer / market insights work in support of project objectives.

  • Leverage customer insights and functional input to develop project business cases, product requirements, and commercialization plans within the global product delivery system process to ensure commercial, organizational, product, and customer readiness for new BD offerings.

  • Collaborate with global and regional commercial teams to ensure project decisions are informed by the most relevant local market dynamics; communicate decisions, their implications, and required actions to local commercial teams in a clear and timely manner.

  • Partner with corporate Strategic Innovation teams to define portfolio involvement in next generation technology.

  • Support the identification of unmet customer needs and the evaluation of early stage, unfunded innovation projects; recommend projects for prioritization and funding to the Innovation Council.

  • Clearly communicate project value to BD with high level leadership stakeholders; provide recommendations on path forward with a strong bias towards financial results, product quality, and customer impact.

  • Prepare and present general project and overall funnel updates to business leadership as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Technical Discipline

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, R&D, or business development

  • Medical device industry experience highly preferred

  • Ability to use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and identify ways to optimize project timelines and to mitigate project risks/delays.

  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Proven ability to work in high-paced environment and routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing

  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills

  • Ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced, results oriented environment

  • High integrity and ethics and strong fit with BD values

  • 25%+ global travel required (contingent on travel policies)
