Job Summary

The Sr Product Engineer, ADT is responsible for ADT and flat file implementation activities for new customers and for customers undergoing EMR system changes and upgrades. This role provides escalated support and remediation of the issues identified in ADT and flat file integrations. This role will also support, represent, and project manage on-going data conversion activities to enable customer migration to new generation capabilities. The Sr. Principal Engineer, ADT will be responsible improving implementation processes to ensure efficiency and repeatability. Sr Principal Engineers are also responsible for developing solutions by identifying potential opportunities for assigned data streams and assisting in the generation of solution requirements. The Sr Principal Engineer collaborates with the product and development teams on strategic direction, vision, and scope of ADT and flat file processing.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • The role requires strong knowledge of SQL with the ability to create and troubleshoot queries and stored procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of HL7, specifically ADT messages and events.

  • Responsible for technical setup and implementation of ADT and flat file software integrations.

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and remediate customer data problems.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the use of ADT within hospital systems.

  • Prioritize future development efforts based on alignment with business goals, strategic direction, and timelines.

  • Collaborates across solution groups on similar functionality to ensure common process and seamless integration.

  • Lead collaborative efforts of cross-functional teams that may include members of support functions such as R&D, field operations, regulatory, quality clinical, sales, and user experience design to ensure proper integration solutions are implemented.

  • Demonstrates deep customer, technical, regulatory considerations with appropriate parties to identify the drivers leading to customer data and integration issues.

  • Evaluates alternative solutions/decisions in light of the potential impact on the internal/external customer; understands the resource implications of solutions and makes customer-focused recommendations that highlights quality.

  • Work closely with application development and clinical managers to ensure the intended integration delivery requirements are satisfied by the solutions.

  • This role will be expected to perform hands on troubleshooting and performance optimization.

  • Has in-depth functional expertise and broad knowledge of integration products and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred

  • 5+ years relevant experience working with ADT integration required.

  • SQL knowledge required with ability to demonstrate skills with creating and modifying stored procedures and performing database performance tuning (indexing, plans, etc..) and optimization.

  • 5+ years relevant experience with an integration engine such as Corepoint, Symphonia, Mirth, Rhapsody, etc.

  • Experience troubleshooting data loading issues required.

  • HL7 experience required

  • Working knowledge of integration principles and its application in solving standard and non-standard technical problems and have ability to identify trends and underlying problems.

  • Coding troubleshooting knowledge required: .NET, regular expression (RegEx), C#, or similar experience preferred.

  • Experience in creating/supporting dashboards and visualizations supporting validation of data is preferred

  • Ability to convey complex technical information to a variety of levels within the organization.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
