Job Description SummaryWhat a Black Belt contributes to BD?
As a Black Belt you are responsible for leading new and innovative ideas to drive the deployment of continuous improvement and process redesign with the end goal of increased customer satisfaction, business capabilities and increased revenue/decreased expenses. You are responsible for leading discussions and collaborating with our business partners to elicit, analyze and document requirements around critical business processes to drive behavior and process transformation. You will be a role model for continuous improvement and the benefits of leveraging the DMAIC and lean methodology to drive systematic organizational improvements linked to strategic initiatives.
**This is a home-based position with some travel required.**
What is expected of you for success in your role
Utilizing Lean Six Sigma Tools to Identify Root Causes and Opportunities for Improvement.
Developing project charters, project scope, business cases for funding, schedules, risk assessments and communication plans.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously with the skill level to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Partnering with functional areas on training, monitoring and change management.
Diligent Follow-up on business case ROI including both hard dollar and soft benefits after project launch.
Highly accountable for delivering results and working with all levels of Professional Services and Global Customer Services utilizing a very “hands on” approach to creating value, driving buy-in and change management in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
Accountabilities in this role
Leverage Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies including DMAIC and DFLSS
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and task execution
Manage the project plan by identifying critical path, constraints, contingencies and mitigations to achieve project objectives. Escalate threats to project plan as required.
Work across the organization to align functional support and input for the project
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues
Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
Set and continually manage project and program expectations for team members and stakeholders. Ability to build collaborative teams and lead in a matrixed team and virtual setting
Deliver appropriate and effective communication
Establish operational excellence best practices, templates, tools and partnerships to expand and mature continuous improvement capabilities for the organization
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with documented projects and 5+ years of work experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including experience using Minitab and/or similar analytical tools
Demonstrated end-to-end business process thinking; knowledge of present or “as is” processes and ability to lead improvements that will constitute a desired “future state”
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes and gain team member and stakeholder buy in
Value stream mapping and process mapping skills including ability to highlight process improvement opportunities
Exceptional PowerPoint presentation skills with demonstrated ability to communicate to all levels of the organization including ability to write concise executive summaries
Demonstrated ability to train and advance knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and principles
Demonstrated Project and Program Management experience desired to lead continuous improvement efforts, support and drive change management to achieve business goals and KPI’s
Strong facilitation skills
BA/BS Required; MA Preferred
Six Sigma Black Belt Industry certification credentials
Lean Six Sigma industry certification credentials
Some travel may be required
