Lead Marketing strategic business category with regard to programs, policies, personnel, and process. Contributes to the development of franchise Strategic plans and implementation. Manages, directs ,and implements all aspects of a marketing plan for an entire market. Will manage and mentor product managers to execute tactical plans. Will be accountable for identifying new business opportunities and developing accurate forecasts. Also responsible for developing product management training and skills. Profit and loss responsibility for the franchise. This position is responsible for executing the global Biosurgery portfolio strategy and supporting all phases of the product development life cycle from identification of new opportunities for innovation to launch of new technologies.
BD Interventional’s Surgery worldwide business unit, located in Rhode Island, is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies. Our Biosurgery Platform is delivering a growing line of enhanced sealants and hemostats to complement surgical techniques across surgical specialties.
The Marketing Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Biosurgery Platform. This position is responsible for executing the global Biosurgery portfolio strategy and supporting all phases of the product development life cycle from identification of new opportunities for innovation to launch of new technologies.
Roles and responsibilities associated with this position include:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support execution of the global portfolio strategy for the Biosurgery Platform
Develop clinical expertise in Biosurgery products and relevant surgical specialties
Build relationships with the Surgical Specialties Sales Force, Key Opinions Leaders, customers, and other hospital stakeholders
Lead market research and voice of customer initiatives for product development projects, including internet surveys, focus groups, and preclinical validation labs
Identify and rank unmet customer needs in Biosurgery and adjacent spaces; identify new opportunities for category innovation
Create business cases for new product ideas; update these business cases in accordance with project phase gates and in response to changing market and competitive dynamics
Support all phases of the product development life cycle from design and development to investigational use or commercial launch
Collaborate with regional Marketing teams to develop claims, value propositions and pricing strategies for new products
Collaborate with regional teams to establish detailed global sales forecasts for new products
Actively encourage and support a positive culture within the Biosurgery Platform
Minimum of 1-year field sales experience preferred
Prior experience in healthcare communications, education, and promotion a plus
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
Minimum six (6) product management experience.
Consistently demonstrates superior performance.
Has potential to be Division Marketing Head.
Minimum nine (9) years marketing/sales/engineering healthcare experience.
Proven people management and development skills.
Demonstrates strong learning skills and intelligence.
Excellent written and oral communications.
Demonstrates leadership capabilities.
Ability to work as a strong team contributor.
Strong financial analytic skills, including P&L Management
Proven or strong potential skills in coaching, developing and guiding subordinates.
Scope and Impact of Position:

Manage and develop product management.
Establish pricing policy for the market.
