Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities:
Leads and/or supports material, design and/or process changes to existing products by following design control process and generating well-documented research and analyses records.
Leads and/or support activities for continuous process improvement and production continuity
Leads the coordination of project activities that involve cross-functional group
Leads technical reviews for manufacturing and/or design changes and maintain product design files
Assess and maintain the product Design Input Summary (DIS), Product Performance Specification (PPS), Design Trace Matrix (DTM),FMEAs, process specifications and applicable design history documents as defined per BD’s product development process.
Conducts process characterization of all new operations and processes using design of experiments (DOE)
Plan and supports process validations including IQ,OQ,PQ,PPQ
Plan and performs hands-on benchtop studies, troubleshooting and/or root-cause-analysis to evaluate product performance & improvements
Demonstrate strong drive for results and clear accountability for successful and timely completion of designated tasks and projects
Ensures compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound engineering principles
Education and Experience:
BS in engineering (mechanical, chemical, biomedical) with minimum of 8 years of related medical device experience. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
High level of written and verbal communication skills
Product and/or process development experience in medical device industry
Understanding of GMPs and medical device regulations as they apply to design and manufacturing.
