At the Enniscorthy facility, we manufacture mainly angioplasty catheters that are used in both coronary and peripheral procedures to unblock arteries. We are looking for a motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis in a Day role (Monday to Friday).

About the role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement Specialist will focus on supplier management, purchasing components from domestic and international suppliers both internally and externally and associated inventory management. You will lead new product development material sourcing and supply, associated contract negotiation and supply agreement development. You will analyse costs, purchase terms, and supervise contract details, to offer strategies and solutions to assist BD to have an outstanding Supply chain. Additional duties involve tracking orders and resolving issues concerning price disputes.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain excellent communication with all the business stakeholders.

  • Supervise and control the onsite sourcing operations.

  • Work with global sourcing, legal and procurement teams to negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers.

  • Work with wider supply chain team to ensure components are available in line with production schedule to meet site goals. (MAPV, OTIF, Backorder, Inventory levels are achieved).

  • Negotiate contract renewals and supervise all aspects of the terms of a contract.

  • Build purchase orders and track orders with vendors and suppliers.

  • Maintain Kanban’s.

  • Focus on inventory management to ensure our inventory levels are balanced to ensure overstocking does not occur while the flow of goods remains positive.

  • Ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications.

  • Support and drive continuous improvement practices for the procurement area.

  • Work closely with NPI teams to understand details of procurement requirements and to ensure components are sourced to meet project requirements.

  • Analyse invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.

  • Analysing industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.

  • Project future needs by liaising with various departments and suppliers to ensure the organisation’s future needs will be seamlessly met.

  • Monitor/Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns. Be willing to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary.

About you

The successful candidate will have a third level degree in procurement, supply chain or business management coupled with previous experience in the purchasing/procurement field specialising in negotiation, LEAN and ERP. Some of this experience preferably within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry.
