Our vision for Surgery - Biosurgery & Infection Prevention at BD

In Surgery, our products empower providers to reduce the incidence of surgical complications, improve patients’ experiences and lower the total cost of surgical care.

Main responsibilities will include:

In this role you will create a deep understanding of the concepts behind our haemostat, sealant and infection prevention portfolios, with specific focus on ChloraPrep, by supporting customers through driving professional education and creating internal therapy champions within each account. You will provide extensive field support of targeted accounts during the life cycle of the introduction and protocolisation of methods to support infection prevention and control methods including:

  • Pre-evaluation, clinical training and practice implementation

  • Post-implementation training to drive greater acceptance and utilisation with all partners and its full acceptance as a protocolised standard of care in the institution

  • Assessment, evaluation and maintenance performance against infection prevention protocols by utilising practice improvement techniques that track and monitor account performance using agreed actions and metrics

You will also be responsible in providing clinician training through our multi-level educational platform with the objective of creating account champions and infection prevention advocates. In addition, you will support the UK reference centres and proctor networks and the facilitation of peer to peer communications in support of the sales force, including proctor days, local symposia, round table meetings and masterclasses.

About you

We are looking for a results-oriented and dynamic candidate with, preferably, a degree level nursing qualification. You should have experiences in the following sectors: successful field based clinical support experience within the medical device industry and a clinical background ideally in an Operating Theatre/Intensive Care or related environment.

You should be able to provide evidence of an ability to develop strong technical knowledge of theatre based products, related procedures and indications. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage all levels of interaction with internal and external partners of all levels. You will have the flexibility to travel extensively across your dedicated territory.
