Reporting to the European Laboratory Informatics Manager, the European Lab Auto Informatics Specialist (LAIS) works in a team with other BD stakeholders and is responsible for delivering product expertise for Network Configuration and Computer Infrastructure for the implementation of our Lab Auto solutions at customer site, troubleshooting for Middleware solutions, Information Systems Integration and roll out BD Remote Support tools.
Job Description
LAIS works closely with the Workflow & Customer Solutions Team IDS Europe and IDS Lab Automation Project Managers Team to provide our customers with the best user experience.
As subject matter expert, you will provide regional support to customers of BD’s middleware products and related informatics and connectivity solutions. You will work with regional and local country teams to successfully deploy competencies in implementation and post-sales support processes.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Supporting the implementation of the BD Lab Automation at customer sites during implementation and post-implementation.
Collaborating internally to execute comprehensive project plans for implementation.
Configuration of BD Lab Automation Data Management Solution at customer sites, including the Lead implementation of LIS connectivity and customization of the software as required.
IT Server installations
Manage and respond sharply to direct support requests to troubleshoot technical issues related to BD’s middleware installations.
Assisting to determine the root cause of product issues and provide feedback on product design and performance.
Identifying product improvement needs, performance issues and key concern.
Ensuring that Field Corrective Actions are properly implemented.
Rolling out new product releases, update or any new version of BD middleware solution.
To be successful in this role you will have a Degree in Computer Sciences/Networking/Technical degree or comparable, demonstrable knowledge and experience. You will have a minimum of three years experience in a field-based support role, preferably with experience in Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics or BD Medical Devices. Specifically, experience supporting middleware solutions in hospital or laboratory IT environment. Experience as a 3rd line support engineer is a plus.
Expert knowledge of information systems, including computer hardware, Operating System configuration, network design and troubleshooting and virtualization technologies is a must, together with a high level of experience in Information Security, and knowledge of SQL Service installations and troubleshooting. You will have a high level of experience with connectivity to LIS systems (ASTM, HL7, interfacing projects) and software development skills.
You MUST be comfortable to travel up to 70% of the time across Europe and the US.
