About the role

Are you currently working as a Product Engineer with a focus on sustaining engineering of legacy products within the medical devices/ pharma/ biotech or automotive setting? Then this position could be a perfect fit for you!

BD, Winnersh/ Wokingham in Berkshire is recruiting for a Product Engineer with a mechanical engineering degree or HND with valuable PM lifecycle experience within the large matrix organisation and ideally some injection moulding design experience.

The Product Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and leading small scale projects related to the outsourcing and sustaining of a current range of Infusion products . The role focuses on meeting customer and business expectations for safety, quality, delivery and cost through the execution of projects and activities covering problem definition, solution and engineering change. The Engineer will help to develop and employ best practice in delivering projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • (To develop, translate and implement product design iterations to support the company’s strategic improvement targets.

  • To proactively coordinate sustaining engineering projects, including ensuring regulatory compliance, from initiation to delivery.

  • To support the ongoing manufacture of high-quality products and spares with respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.

  • To implement production process improvement to support the company’s continuous improvement targets.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree or HND and an understanding of injection moulding, processing & tooling.

  • Product Improvement & Development

  • Strong PM lifecycle

  • Sustaining Engineering - legacy products (the identification, review, assessment, and resolution)

  • Some experience with CAD.
