This role is on fixed term contract – end date 30th April 2024. Monday to Friday, offering flexible hybrid working (35 hours per week) with travel to our office twice per month for collaboration.

About the role & the site

BD Winnersh is the UK headquarters and the office is located in the modern Winnersh Triangle Business Park, Wokingham, Berkshire with approx. 690 employees. It is an exciting modern office space in the business park surrounded by greenery and a few lounge & terrace restaurants.

BD employs over 3,500 associates across multiple research, manufacturing and commercial sites in the UK & Ireland.

The purpose of the role is to manage the statutory and fiscal accounting requirements for the EMEA region.

You will be required to perform a range of general accounting duties including monthly US GAAP management reporting and reviews, local compliance statutory reporting with the support of a 3rd party service provider and to help build, review, improve and document the accounting processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Manage the relationship with the Europe Finance team and provide monthly reporting analysis.

· Ensure all recharges in and out of entities are appropriate from a local statutory perspective with proper documentation.

· Be the point of contact and manage the relationship with our external service provider for the provision of information in order to complete both direct and indirect tax returns, and all local compliance reporting.

· Work with our external service providers for the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts for EMEA entities.

· Liaise with shared services to calculate monthly expenses and corporate tax accruals.

· Review monthly recharges and reconciliations prepared by the shared service team.

· Ensure monthly VAT/EC Sales and local compliance returns are reported correctly for the EMEA region.

· Review and manage the TSA/LSA fees

· Ensure that all records comply with US and Local GAAP

· Ensure all statutory processes adhere to SOX/Local control requirements

About You

  • The ideal candidate should have a relevant experience as a Financial Accountant within any manufacturing industry on EMEA level and be qualified to ACCA or CIMA professional level

  • SAP experience.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.

  • Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment;

  • High personal accountability & integrity;

  • Courage to drive through change in a professional manner;

  • Passion to “make a difference” to health;

  • Proactive and the ability to take initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude.
