Our vision for BD Biosciences at BD

BD Biosciences (BDB) is a leading provider of high-quality flow cytometry and single-cell genomics solutions, scientific research and clinical laboratories. Here, we are leading the way by developing the best technologies that have the ability to look closer at the details of cells and diseases.

About the role

You will be responsible for the sales of BD Immunocytometry and BD Pharmingen products by direct sales activities, the aim being to grow and develop the sales revenue in the territory. The focus for this person will be in selling flow cytometry instrumentation and associated reagents into clinical, research and industrial markets (pharmaceutical and biotech).

This sales territory includes the South West and South West of England.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To be responsible for the selling of the BD Immunocytometry and BD Pharmingen product ranges within the territory.

  • To ensure the growth targets for the BDB business are met on their territory within the BD product ranges through direct negotiation, sales activities, attendance at exhibitions, organisation of on site meetings/demonstrations and technical support.

  • To participate in sales meetings, providing up to date and accurate information about the sales territory

  • To generate regular reports for the BD Biosciences marketing team (both local and European) communicating the trends, opportunities and threats for the organization from the market place.

About you

The successful individual will be educated to at the least degree level or equivalent in either cell biology, immunology, haematology or a related subject and/or have several years laboratory experience. Experience with flow cytometry would be a distinct advantage but is not crucial.

Although sales experience is desirable, it is not essential provided you have a strong technical background as training will be provided. You must be motivated to achieve individual and team sales targets, be a team player and have strong coordinating and organisational skills. A high level of negotiations skill would be desirable.

The right attitude, organisational skills, enthusiasm and results-orientation is most important.
