About the role

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)/E-waste Coordinator will lead the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries compliance activities and ensure standard processes and governance are being followed. The role will require close liaison with the manufacturing sites, electrical engineers, in-country reporters, and the cross-business electromechanical-instrument (EMI) information sharing team.

The EPR/E-waste Coordinator will be the subject matter expert on WEEE/e-waste and battery regulations with particular focus on the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the EU Directive on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators as well as understanding the impact of upcoming new/changed legislations.

The EPR/E-waste Coordinator will coordinate reporting/registration requirements for regions/countries as appropriate and agreed.

The EPR/E-waste Coordinator will provide guidance, training, and support on global WEEE/e-waste and battery waste requirements to the cross-business EMI info sharing team and relevant businesses, countries, and manufacturing sites.

About you

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain supporting guidance and documents about WEEE and batteries to ensure waste compliance requirements are met.

  • Communicate changes to electrical or battery waste requirements to relevant businesses, countries, and manufacturing sites.

  • Manage data to support the reporting requirements by Country.

  • Assess and understand the impact, communicate, and prepare for upcoming new or changed legislation.

  • Support the roll-out of SAP S4 Hana Recycling Administration (REA) to additional countries and support the collection of more product and part information to be loaded in REA. Maintain existing WEEE and battery MS Access database until REA completion.

  • Work with relevant Master Data Owners and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Analysts to ensure accurate master data to support reporting.

  • Support the completion of WEEE and battery reporting as required for each country.

  • Support a cross-business/country network to identify best practice.

  • Create selected purchase requisitions and ensure invoices are processed for payment as required.

  • Contact suppliers for extended producer responsibility compliance information as required.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor level degree.

  • Knowledge of WEEE and battery waste regulations is desirable.

  • Systems savvy with experience gathering data from various systems for analytical work.

  • Experience in SAP and database programs helpful. Knowledge of SAP REA a bonus.

  • PC knowledgeable (Windows environment, Outlook, PowerPoint) and possess strong Excel skills.

  • MS Access database experience desirable.

  • Possess good verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Organised and a service orientated team player.

  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills and stay alert to opportunities to continuously improve and simplify processes.

  • Solution-oriented team player who can work independently, but collaboratively, in a small department within a cross-functional / cross-cultural and international business environment.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity – act when situations not entirely clear.

  • Able to work effectively in a home office-based environment with reliable connectivity (Wi-Fi).

  • Able to shift working hours to work with international locations (10% of time).

  • Some travel may be required.
