The MRB Coordinator is responsible for controlling non-conforming material in all product and processes utilized in the manufacture, service, inspection, testing and released of finished product.

Under the general supervision of the Manufacturing Quality Manager, this position will provide support to internal customers related to parts and product non-conformance identification, investigation and disposition.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall coordination, tracking/status of all Material Review Board (MRB) material.

  • Manage non-conforming material and perform inventory transactions.

  • Perform light rework on non-conforming parts to return to usable status.

  • Perform inventory inspections and containment activities when non-conformances are identified.

  • Work with the purchasing and supplier quality teams to provide feedback on supplier caused issues and assist with coordinating returns to the suppliers for reworks or replacements.

  • Prepares and files completed documentation, indicating and corrective action as required.

  • Logs and tracks non-conforming material and documents in process

  • Interfacing daily with various departments to provide status of open MRB items and to seek closure on those items.

  • Assure that all non-conformances are dispositioned in a timely manner.

  • Process dispositioned material – Return parts to suppliers, scrap parts, verify tasks completed and approved per released instructions

  • Recommend/implement improvements for the overall flow of material through the MRB process.

  • Maintains the accuracy of identification and count of materials. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory for MRB.

  • Maintain an organized MRB area for all non-conforming material or product

  • Maintain an accurate MRB log for accurate tracking of all non-conforming products moving, in and through the plant.

  • Coordinates rework activities with Service, Operations or Quality

  • Able to verify assembly documentation accuracy and read engineering drawings/specifications.

  • Assists or leads non-conformance investigations and material assessments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic familiarity with FDA QSR and/or ISO 9000/ISO 13485 Quality System Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and “do it right the first time” attitude

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic familiarity with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to utilize a computer to enter data, prepare reports and conduct ERP transactions

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree or professional certification preferred

  • At least one year experience performing electro-mechanical inspections in an FDA or ISO regulated environment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift a 20 lb load from the floor.

Work Environment:

  • Majority of time is spent working in a manufacturing environment
